Well that depends. Does the idea of looking 10 years younger appeal to you?

We’re jumping ahead. Before we get to the benefits of it, let’s talk a little about what the Micropeel is and how it works.

The Non-Surgical Miracle

If you’re not familiar with the Micropeel, this is a non-surgical procedure that utilizes a powerful combo of dermaplaning, safe chemical solutions, and cryogenic therapy to speed up the shedding of dead surface skin cells and work its magic. Because why wait for your skin to give you the bright and radiant look you’ve always wanted? That ‘aint ever happenin’. You deserve it and you deserve it now.

We use SkinCeuticals Micropeel products – and they are amazing for all skin types. These pharmaceutical-grade professional peels can stimulate some serious collagen production, which reduces fine lines and wrinkles. SkinCeuticals’ formulas have been heavily researched and tested, which is why they are used and trusted by dermatologists, plastic surgeons, and skin pros around the country.

Sometimes Nature’s Very Good to Us – Even After She’s Not

Beyond glowing, younger skin, SkinCeuticals Micropeels can also decrease hyperpigmentation and stop acne breakouts. You didn’t get through your teen years only to have to deal with zits again. Really.

Turns out Micropeel solutions are partially derived from fruits and other plants. These formulas loosen the bonds that hold dead cells to the surface of your skin. Now, left to its own devices, your skin does naturally slough off these dead skin cells, but as we mentioned, sometimes it’s just not as quick as we would like. And so, we turn to safe chemical peels to hasten the process and give us brighter, softer and smoother skin NOW.

Eating a sweet, juicy piece of fruit is good. But using that power to make you look younger and more vibrant is way better.

The 3-Step Micropeel Process

Micropeel treatments typically take about 30 minutes, and starts with your skin being gently and thoroughly cleansed by your favorite esthetician.

Then, the very top layer of dead skin cells will be removed by gentle dermaplaning. Quick recap – dermaplaning involves exfoliating the skin and shaving off the fine vellus hair, otherwise known as peach fuzz. (And no, they won’t grow back thick and course – that’s an old wives’ tale.)

Afterward, a SkinCeuticals Micropeel solution will be applied. You may experience a very slight burning or itching sensation, which is easily remedied by the third step (also ice or other cooling agents, followed with a good moisturizer can help later).

The last step is Cryogenic Therapy – where carbon dioxide is applied. An immediate anti-inflammatory response is seen, and dead/damaged skin is sluffed off, blackheads unblocked, and your skin’s surface appears incredibly smooth as your pores become smaller.

Immediately following your treatment, you can return to life as normal. You can apply makeup and go about your day. Those with very fair skin may notice their complexion is pinker or more red than normal throughout the rest of the day, and we recommend you apply sun protection before leaving.

In general, 4-6 Micropeel sessions (with two-week intervals) are required to get the best results. Once these initial treatment sessions have been completed, you can easily maintain your soft and smooth skin with a follow-up session every two to three months.

You’ll also want to start using SkinCeuticals home care products if you’re not already. This will complement and support your Micropeel treatments for max results. Our estheticians are more than happy to help you select the right products for your skin – but here’s what we’d typically recommend pairing with Micropeel treatments: SkinCeuticals Phloretin CF, Retexturing Activator, and Retinol .05.
